  • The percentage of children and adolescents who are defines as overweight has nearlytripled since the early 1970’s.
  • Over 10 percent of preschool children between the ages of 2 and 5 are overweight.
  • Another 15 percent of children and teens ages 6-19 are considered at risk of becoming over weight.
  • Researchers found that lowered self-esteem was associated with being overweight in girls as young as 5 years.
  • 1 in 5 children in the United States are overweight.
  • Children with obesity, ages 10-13, are reported to have a 70% likelihood of obesity persisting into adulthood.
  • Some scientists warn if current trends continue, this may be the first generation of Americans whose parents outlive their children. According to the American Obesity Association (obesity.org)

  No matter how similar Children appear in size, shape and physical ability, we know that each child has individual needs and are unique in their own way.   Our programs have been developed so each child is able to adapt to his or her own skill level in an environment full of fun and positive experiences.

Sessions start April 27th


Programs

Preschool PE (ages 3-5)

Wednesdays at 9:30am, Thursdays at 3:30pm- 8 weeks

We will focus on the development of basic movement skills balancing, throwing, catching and more.

Action Kids (ages 6-8)

Mondays at 3:30pm- 8 weeks
Games played to develop balance and cardiovascular endurance.
 

Tween Fit (ages 9-11)

Wednesdays at 3:30pm- 8 weeks
Games and activities designed to develop coordination, balance, strength and endurance.

 

Tween Fit with Nutritional Education (ages 9-11)
Games and activities designed to develop coordination, balance, strength, endurance and nutritional education.

JR. Mission Fit (ages 12-16)

Mondays at 4:30pm- 12 weeks
This program is designed to focus on not just exercise but nutritional education. We will incorporate drills to improve speed, endurance and agility.
